Most of What Follows is True ­

A woman named Cristina journeys to the darkest place on earth:  Hollywood.

She goes there in search of her sister, who has vanished.  Once there, she meets several people from the world of porn, losers on the outskirts of tinsel town.  They lead her to one of the seven major movie studios.  Her sister, with hopes of movie stardom, was last seen entering this studio, which, in reality, is the heart of darkness.

Like a heroine who has entered a haunted castle, filled with ghouls and monsters, Cristina presses onward, intent on finding her sister.  The damned within cannot believe Cristina does not harbor a love for them.  Everyone adores movies in general and Hollywood in particular.  What is wrong with Cristina that would make her so different from the brainless masses?

Whether they are victims or victimizers, all the souls in the studio are lost.  They tell tales of woe or false bravado to Cristina, as she winds her way to the top of the hierarchy.  Along the way, she bears witness to racism, incest, rape, toilet training, crucifixion, Hitler worship, cannibalism, and multiple murders.  This hell-on-earth thrives on ‘tradition,’ ‘hatred,’ and ‘conformity,’ and, as one doomed writer testifies, “All roads lead to Hollywood, and they’re all one way!"
